Aves Universeel A consits of fine grade insects suitable for feeding small insectivorous birds such as Todies, Barbets, Woodpeckers, Manakins, Cotinga’s, Pipra’s, Larks, Pitpits, Bulbuls, Leafbirds, Waxwings, Thrushes, Titmice, Flower peckers, Sunbirds, White-eyes, Honeyeaters, Tanagers, and indigenous Finches.
The basic diet for small insectivorous birds consists of a mixture of 30 gram biscuit meal, 1 spoonful of Aves Universeel A and a hard boiled peeled egg.
Aves universeel A is a homogenous diet without identifiable components, such as dried insects. Selection of specific components is not possible and the occurrence of nutrient deficiencies is therefore prevented. Depending on the species, these birds also consume some fruit (with Aves-Fruitmix-low iron), Avesnectar, and live food such as buffalo worms, mealworms, wax worms, crickets and flying insects.
