Aves Universeel B consists of coarse grade insects suitable for feeding large insectivorous birds such as Touracos, Mouse birds, Trogons, Motmots, Bee-eaters, Hoopoes, Hornbills, Jacamars, Barbets, Toucans, Woodpeckers, Broadbills, Cotinga’s, Flycatchers, Sparrows and Troupials.
The basic diet for large insectivorous birds consists of a mixture of lean meat, bread, egg and Aves Universeel B. Depending on the bird species some of these bird species also consume fruit (with Fruitmix-low iron) and Avesnectar. All these birds consume live food as well. Depending on the bird’s preference, they eat parts of day-old chicks, crickets, grasshoppers, locusts, mealworms and morioworms. The nutritional value of insects can be increased by using Aves-Mealwormfood or Aves-Insect dusting powder.
Preparation:
Mix 100 g ground dried bread with 1 spoonful of Aves Universeel B. Add 100g ground lean meat or heart and 1 hard boiled egg. Mix thoroughly. Store in the refrigerator or freezer.
