Buckwheat is a grain that has been eaten for hundreds of years in the Far East, China, Japan, Korea, and other Asian countries. Buckwheat is thought of as a cereal, but is actually a herb.
Mostly carbohydrate with a little over 10% protein, Buckwheat also has a good fibre content.
Buckwheat will be appreciated by all parakeets and parrots and can be fed either with the seed mixture or soaked/sprouted.
